Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Last updated: 6 October 2026

1. Introduction

AMDI (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal data when you visit amdiassets.com, contact us, or buy land or other property from us. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (“NDPA”), its implementing regulations, and guidance issued by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (“NDPC”).

For the purposes of the NDPA, AMDI is the data controller of the personal data described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Contact details: first name, last name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, and the country and address where you live.
  • Enquiry details: the messages you send through our contact form, email, phone, WhatsApp, or social media, and the properties you are interested in.
  • Transaction and identity information: for buyers, a valid ID (for example, international passport, national ID, driver’s licence, or voter’s card), passport photograph, date of birth, occupation, next of kin, and payment records. If you act through a representative, we may also collect a Power of Attorney and the representative’s identity details.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and time spent on pages, collected through cookies and similar tools such as Google Analytics.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data to:

  • respond to your enquiries and arrange property inspections;
  • process reservations, payments, allocations, and title documentation;
  • verify identity and comply with legal and regulatory obligations, including anti-money laundering requirements;
  • send updates about your purchase, payment reminders, and important notices;
  • send information about new estates, offers, and events, where you have agreed to receive them or where permitted by law;
  • improve our website, services, and user experience, and protect against fraud and misuse.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data only where we have a lawful basis under the NDPA, namely:

  • Consent, for example when you submit the contact form or subscribe to updates;
  • Performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract;
  • Legal obligation, such as record-keeping and compliance checks; and
  • Legitimate interests, such as securing our website and preventing fraud, where these are not overridden by your rights.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it only with:

  • lawyers, surveyors, and consultants who help us prepare and register your documents;
  • banks and payment service providers that process payments;
  • government agencies and regulators, such as the Lagos State Land Registry or other bodies, where required for registration, consent, or by law;
  • technology and service providers, such as website hosting, analytics (Google), form handling, and messaging platforms (WhatsApp), who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards; and
  • law enforcement or courts, where we are legally required to do so.

6. International Transfers

Because many of our clients live abroad, and some of our service providers operate outside Nigeria, your data may be transferred to or accessed from other countries. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection as required by the NDPA, such as appropriate contractual safeguards.

7. Cookies and Analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the site. These tools collect information such as pages visited and general location. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the website work.

8. Data Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described above, including to meet legal, accounting, and regulatory requirements. Enquiry data is generally retained until it is no longer needed to respond to you. Transaction and title records are retained for as long as the property relationship continues and for the period required by law afterwards. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it securely.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, and disclosure, including restricted access to records and secure storage. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach occurs that is likely to put your rights at risk, we will notify the NDPC and affected individuals as required by law.

10. Your Rights

Under the NDPA, you have the right to:

  • be informed about how your data is used;
  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • request deletion of your data, where there is no legal reason for us to keep it;
  • object to or restrict processing, including direct marketing;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out;
  • request a copy of your data in a portable format, where applicable; and
  • lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request, and we will respond within a reasonable time as required by law.

11. Marketing Communications

We may contact you by email, phone, SMS, or WhatsApp about our estates and offers. You can opt out at any time by replying “STOP”, using the unsubscribe option, or contacting us directly. We will still send you essential messages about any transaction you have with us.

12. Children’s Privacy

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. Third-Party Websites

Our website may contain links to third-party sites and social media pages. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies before sharing information with them.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
